As the second oldest franchise in America, Arthur Murray Inc. is well known around the world as a excellent ballroom dance school company with over 100 years of experience and approximately 280 studios on every continent. Over the years, over 4 million people worldwide have improved their lives with ballroom dancing by learning to dance quickly and easily at Arthur Murray Dance Centers.

The story begins with a man named Arthur Murray, who became an American icon of corporate success and ballroom dancing during his lifetime. In 1912 he opened his first dance school as a pop-up in a hotel in New York.

In 1964, Arthur and Kathryn Murray retired from the dance business, leaving their franchise in the hands of a few franchisees who brought a young and fresh spirit to the company. Under the new management, Arthur Murray Inc. has always kept pace with new dance trends without forgetting the founder's philosophy.

In 2006 Arthur Murray Inc. celebrated the induction of Arthur and Kathryn Murray into the Hall of Fame at the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs (NY). In 2012, for the 100th anniversary, Mayor M.R. Bloomberg publicly designated April 4 as " Arthur Murray Day " in New York.
